Hi, My name is Rebecca, and I wanted to welcome you.
As the founder of The Quiet Botanist, I’ll be the first to admit that putting myself out in front of the camera, or even out into the world like this doesn’t always come naturally.
It’s not because I’m shy or overly private. It’s simply that I really originally created The Quiet Botanist as a quiet place of beauty and nature for everyone.
At the time, I was healing from chronic Lyme and a side of serious burnout after working for many years as a creative director for luxury brands in both New York and London. What began as a small refuge slowly grew into something more.
I’m originally from Australia and grew up on the beaches of Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Coogee Beach, to be precise though Bondi was the last beach I lived on before packing my bags twenty years ago and heading to New York.
These days I live upstate with my family in a renovated old church surrounded by a walled garden overlooking the Hudson. It sounds dreamy (and often is), but like most projects, it’s very much a work in progress.
Anyway, that’s enough about me!
My hope is that this space can become a place where I share my love of gardening, design, and being out in the nature, whether that’s in the mountains or by the ocean. A side note: my current obsession is Nova Scotia.
In my own quiet way, I hope to share more of what inspires both me and my small but mighty team, nature, art, history, gardening, wellness, the list goes on... We gather it all here and hope that some of it might inspire you too!
Thank you for being here.
x Rebecca
