The globe amaranth has been a symbol of immortality for centuries.

A sphere of luminosity atop each stem, this amaranth has the amazing ability to last as long as three weeks in a vase and can last for years when dried. In another reference to its long life, the globe amaranth, , was given in the Victorian era as a way to say, “My love will never fade or die!”
