During these difficult and anxious times it can feel as if we have lost the connection to our bodies, to our instinct, and even our spirit. Through his hands-on guidance, Max will help you to reconnect your mind and body, so that you can access your energetic flow and awaken your innate presence.
A first session begins with a brief discussion of anatomical principles as well as some simple diagnostic movements to help you identify and release the patterns of tension that are blocking your inherent alignment. Max then invites you to encounter and transcend the deep underlying habits of movement and thought that may be causing you physical pain, or are bottling up your vital energy.
No two sessions are alike. Max will work with you to address your particular needs, and to help you apply these principles to your daily life. This is holistic, ongoing work that restores the unity of your mind and body. Max supports you in your own process of discovery, and helps you to uncover your innately integrated self, your unique balance, grace & poise. You will leave the session rejuvenated, transcendently present, and with an increased sense of wholeness and contentment.

About The Technique
The Alexander Technique is based on the teachings of F.M. Alexander, an Australian actor who made important discoveries about how the human body is designed to breathe and move. F.M Alexander suffered from periodic hoarseness and loss of voice, for which medical treatments gave only temporary relief. Alexander suspected that the problem might be the result of something he was doing with his voice while reciting. He began using a mirror to observe himself while he spoke and discovered that what he was doing wrong did not stop with his voice, but involved a total pattern of faulty postural habits. In overcoming his vocal misuse, Alexander developed a new, sustainable approach to physical education and health, an approach that has enabled people to move and breathe with ease, grace, flexibility and freedom from strain in all the moments of daily life. “The Alexander Technique stresses unification in an era of greater and greater medical specialization. It is an educational system that teaches people how to best use their bodies in ordinary action to avoid or reduce unnecessary stress and pain. It enables clients to get better faster and stay better longer. This is undoubtedly the best way to take care of the back and alleviate back pain.” — Jack Stern, MD, PhD Brain and Spine Surgeons of New York, White Plains, NY
