The Kobe Match Co has developed the perfect strike-on-box incense match using a mixture of paper fibers, incense, and charcoal. For almost 150 years, the Harima region of Awaji, Japan, has been renowned for its production of matches and incense.

Hibi incense matches are delicate and should be lit more gently than a standard match. Hold the match close to the tip and carefully strike in a straight line and wait for the flame to reach the incense stick. A lighter can also be used. Once lit, blow out the flame and place it on the burning pad provided.
